How do you log on to the client GUI ?
The GUI requests a password and a server name, tried the client password
and the backup server and client name plus both by IP still no go.

Here is the GUI after trying to log on.

Hi, you need to register your client at your StoreGrid Server first before login from the GUI

Impressive interface and user friendly. It will be good if Vembu able to include in the future roadmap for partner too.

By the way, there is some error when I tried to drag-n-drop file to the drop box. Will post the error code to Vembu technical team later because testing on another machine.

This is a nice feature but I think its useless for Partners until we can brand it.

For now its ok only for testing. Confused

I believe it is registered.This is in a test environment on the local network.
One machine had 3.1 on it and was working for about 3 weeks the other is a fresh install of the beta.Both display the same behavior so I am missing something on the server end.
One problem is the program hangs after about three attempts with the message "Authenticating with StoreGrid server servers .."
Not going to spend a lot of time on it, if I change to it after beta will need to retrain the end user.

Like jcloudsnetwork had mentioned, you will need to first add a client with that StoreGrid ID (xp-sbs2003) and set a password in the backup server. Also, during installation of the Flex client, make sure you mention the same ID and password for console access. After installation, then you should be able to log into the Flex console with password.

In the longer run when things are ready for production, you could have a registration page where first the end users sign up for the service selecting an ID and a password. For more information on setting up this registration page, please refer the KB article:

Try resetting the password for that client in the backup server from the Customer Management page and set a new password. On the Client side web console, try authenticating it from "Administration -> Auhenticate client" menu. If you still have issues logging in, please contact our support team with screen shots of the error you are seeing.

Please do send us the error details. Our team is working on cleaning up all the issues and your feedback will help them. If you have other recommendations as well, we will be more than happy to hear them.

Branding will be supported. You will be able to change the logos, company name and product name. But not the colors.

No colors?

Well someone is right here. Ahsay has made their branding almost to perfection. Their products is terrible but because their server side is bad, very bad, but their client is very brandable, and its allot more complicated then branding a Flex interface which would be straight CSS skining.

Why does Vembu limit all this things when the limit is the sky? You should allow partners to change as much as they can, because thats their success, everyone has different needs and solution. Maybe someone targets the business sectors and needs more cold colors, others maybe the home users and need attractive glowing things. I mean, the more options as a partner someone has the better success as he can be different from his competitor. At least on the partner side, boxed things never tend to work, there is a point when someone outgrows this and if he cannot change things around his needs, eventually he tries to develop his own product if the provider is not flexible enough.

Had difficulty getting it to authenticate domain usernames and passwords. No matter what combo I tried it would not work. (<user> , <domain>/<user>, <user@domain>)

@nibb,

The Flex UI is still evolving. Future versions will have more customizations for look and feel. But we'll definitely take your feedback and see how we can provide these customizations faster.

@StoreD,

The password that you need to enter to log into the Flex UI is the password that you entered during the installation. Regarding the memory usages, we have been making quite a few changes to reduce the memory foot print. We are also working on Apache-less client. We will be posting on this forum thread once the new builds are available.
