Node Locked Configuration of the StoreGrid Cluster
Overview
When the StoreGrid cluster is configured to use Node Lock algorithm to balance the load of the clients to the Cluster, the Reseller/Customer/Client can be configured to be locked to a particular Node (StoreGrid Server instance) available within the StoreGrid cluster. Once locked, all the backups from the locked Reseller/Customer/Client will be sent to the locked Node. Also, once the Reseller/Customer/Client is locked to a Node, it cannot be edited and locked to a different Node.
Using this page you can lock the Reseller/Customer/Client to a particular Node. This will enable you to scale up the StoreGrid Server deployment as and when more new Resellers/Customers sign up.
How to get here in the StoreGrid Web Console?
 In the top menu of Backup Server, select: "Server Admin -> Cluster Management -> Manage Node Locked Servers" page.
Node Locked Configuration
In this page you can configure Reseller/Customer/Client to be node locked to a particular Node. The following tabs are available in the Backup Server Cluster:
Node Locked Configuration of Reseller Node Locked Configuration of Customer Node Locked Configuration of Client
The Replication Server Cluster has only one tab.
Node Locked Configuration of Reseller
To node lock all customers/clients to a particular Node do the following :
Step 1: Select 'Manage Resellers' tab
Step 2: Select the Reseller which has to be node locked to the Node from the select box 'Reseller Name' in the left hand side.
Step 3: Select the target Node under the select box named Node Name in the right hand side.
Step 4: Save the node locked configuration.
Node Locked Configuration of Customer
To node lock all clients to a particular Node do the following :
Step 1: Select 'Manage Customers' tab
Step 2: Select the Customer which has to be node locked to the Node from the select box 'Customer Name' in the left hand side.
Step 3: Select the target Node under the select box named Node Name in the right hand side.
Step 4: Save the node locked configuration.
Node Locked Configuration of Client
To node lock particular client to a particular Node do the following :
Step 1: Select 'Manage Clients' tab
Step 2: Select the Client which has to be node locked to the Node from the select box 'Client Name' in the left hand side.
Step 3: Select the target Node under the select box named Node Name in the right hand side.
Step 4: Save the node locked configuration.
Node Locked Configuration of Servers
This tab is only applicable when StoreGrid is run in Replication Server mode. To node lock particular Backup Server to a particular Replication Server Node do the following :
Step 1: Select 'Manage Backup Servers' tab
Step 2: Select the Backup Server which has to be node locked to the Node from the select box 'Backup Server' in the left hand side.
Step 3: Select the target Node under the select box named Node Name in the right hand side.
Step 4: Save the node locked configuration.
